Ask your pharmacist if you could benefit from one of these new services.
PEI Pharmacare Programs
The PEI government has several programs available to help Islanders with the cost of medications. The full list of programs is available on the Health PEI
website.
Medication and Safe Needle Disposal Program
Did you know that Island pharmacies will accept unwanted medications and used needles or "sharps"? Yes it's true and very easy. Simply go through your medicine cabinet and take back all your expired or unused medications, vitamins, supplements and used needles to ANY community pharmacy for FREE and environmentally safe disposal. Used needles should always be kept in a "sharps" container to prevent accidental needlesticks. "Sharps" containers are also provided free of charge at your local pharmacy.
